New Delhi, September 3: On the occasion of Janmashtami, Mahant Surendranath Avadhut, the head priest of the Kalka Ji Temple, shared insights about this year’s auspicious timing. He noted that a unique planetary alignment is occurring, making the festival even more significant.
Mahant Surendranath Avadhut mentioned in a conversation on Thursday that this year’s alignment resembles the time of the Dvapara Yuga when Lord Krishna was born. He stated, “On the day of Bhadrapada Krishna Ashtami, Lord Krishna was born in Kansa’s prison. That day, the Rohini Nakshatra was present, and the moon was in Taurus, making it highly auspicious. This year, on Janmashtami, the moon will again be in Taurus, accompanied by the Rohini Nakshatra. Therefore, this year’s Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated with great enthusiasm.”
He informed that Janmashtami falls on September 4 this year. Temples are making special preparations for the occasion. Devotees will observe fasts throughout the day and will break their fast after midnight by offering prayers to Lord Krishna and consuming the prasad.
It is important to note that the Ashtami Tithi will begin at 2:30 AM on September 3 and continue until 12:30 AM on September 5. Consequently, Janmashtami will be celebrated on September 4. The auspicious time for worship will begin at 11:05 AM and last until 12:35 PM, allowing devotees to perform rituals with full devotion.
Preparations for Janmashtami are in full swing at the Kalka Ji Temple in Delhi and all Krishna temples. Due to the favorable planetary positions, there is a notable excitement among devotees. Special arrangements have been made for the midnight celebrations of Lord Krishna’s birth.
