Chandigarh, September 3: The Haryana government announced on Wednesday that health services under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) are operating normally in the state.
Despite calls from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to suspend services under the scheme, the government stated that eligible beneficiaries have faced no significant difficulties in receiving treatment.
The state health agency has been closely monitoring the situation. Regular coordination has been maintained with district-level officials, district implementation managers, and listed hospitals.
All listed hospitals have been instructed to prioritize treatment and continue health services for eligible patients under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Hospitals were also directed to ensure that no eligible beneficiary faces unnecessary difficulties in receiving treatment under the scheme.
According to the state health agency, there have been no complaints regarding the denial of treatment or any disruption in health services for eligible patients since the scheme’s closure on the night of August 31.
Feedback from hospitals and the number of claims submitted during this period indicate that beneficiaries continued to receive health services under the scheme.
The state health agency has refuted claims published in some newspapers regarding a ₹12,000 crore backlog related to hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The agency stated that such information creates unnecessary confusion among beneficiaries and the public.
The actual status of payments and claims under the scheme is verified according to established procedures. The authority has urged the public not to rely on unverified reports or incomplete information and to trust only accurate and official information.
The state health agency also clarified that if any beneficiary complains that a listed hospital denied treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme on August 31 or September 1, the matter will be investigated according to the established process.
The agency will review complaints and information received from hospitals. If the investigation proves that a hospital denied treatment to an eligible beneficiary or deliberately obstructed treatment, appropriate action will be taken against the hospital in accordance with regulations.
The state health agency has reassured all eligible families under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana that they can continue their treatment at listed hospitals across the state according to the established procedures.
Beneficiaries are urged not to be influenced by rumors, unverified information, or misleading reports.
