Muzaffarnagar, June 16: Uttar Pradesh Minister Anil Kumar has emphasized the state government’s commitment to transparency, development, and good governance. He welcomed the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) following the controversy surrounding donations to the Ram Temple.
Kumar stated that establishing an SIT is appropriate when allegations arise, as it ensures a fair investigation. This process brings forth accurate information and paves the way for appropriate action against wrongdoers.
In response to comments made by Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav regarding the establishment of SITs instead of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Kumar urged the Samajwadi Party to account for its tenure. He questioned how many new IITs or higher education institutions were established during the party’s rule from 2012 to 2017.
He accused the previous government of lacking transparency in public recruitment and claimed that specific communities benefited disproportionately. Numerous recruitment scams emerged, yet opposition protests hindered independent investigations.
Kumar noted that serious cases, such as the Muzaffarnagar riots, also lacked impartial inquiries. He asserted that the public is well aware of these events, which is why they supported the BJP for change in the state. According to him, the current government prioritizes accountability and transparency in all matters.
He remarked that while the Samajwadi Party is now the main opposition party, it lacks solid issues that resonate with the public. Kumar alleged that the opposition is merely attempting to mislead people through political rhetoric.
He pointed out that the Samajwadi Party speaks of backward classes, Dalits, and minorities, but forgets them when in power. He emphasized that in a democratic system, the public makes the final decision, predicting that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will return to power in the 2027 assembly elections.
Kumar criticized parties that now claim to protect the Constitution and reservation policies, stating they caused the most harm to these issues while in power. He recalled the incident where a Dalit MP tore up the reservation promotion bill, which remains a topic of discussion with many unanswered questions.
He highlighted that in the past nine years, the state government has provided nearly 950,000 government jobs, ensuring transparency in recruitment processes and equal opportunities for youth from all backgrounds. The government is continuously working to enhance social and political participation, integrating every segment of society into the development mainstream.
Kumar asserted that law and order in the state has improved significantly compared to the past. He claimed that the public acknowledges the establishment of the rule of law in Uttar Pradesh, with stringent actions against criminals. The government’s aim is to position the state among the leading states in the country through development, security, and good governance.
