Amaravati, August 18: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu clarified on Monday that there were no violations in the recruitment process for teachers under the ‘Mega DSC’ initiative. He stated that all information related to the recruitment process was transparently made available online.
While addressing the assembly regarding the Mega DSC recruitments, he accused leaders of the YSR Congress Party of running a false campaign through “hit-and-run” politics.
The Chief Minister pointed out that those in power from 2019 to 2024 did not recruit a single teacher, despite making grand claims about the education sector. He noted that out of the 14 DSC examinations conducted so far, 11 were held during the tenure of TDP and NDA governments, resulting in teacher appointments without any corruption complaints.
Naidu emphasized, “The previous government did not recruit a single teacher in five years. Immediately after taking office, we filled 15,941 teacher positions through the Mega DSC. The entire process was completed transparently, with appointments made within just 148 days.”
He explained that both TET and DSC notifications, along with horizontal and vertical reservation processes, were strictly implemented.
“We selected 42,000 questions across 13 subjects and conducted the exams in the best possible manner. The tests were held at 154 centers in a computer-based test (CBT) mode, and the results were released transparently. A total of 15,941 candidates were selected and appointed based solely on merit. Zonal-level committees, state-level committees, and an appellate authority were established to address grievances,” he added.
CM Naidu claimed that the rules set by the central government for the sports quota were followed.
He stated, “Those who received jobs are highly qualified individuals who worked hard for their appointments. The results were declared strictly under the merit-cum-roster system. The entire selection process was conducted online. A retired IAS officer and a former minister are making statements based on their whims. There was no change in the recruitment process as outlined in the notification.”
He accused YSRCP leaders of filing numerous cases and creating obstacles. He mentioned that even after official clarifications were issued, they continued to concoct new conspiracies daily. Protests regarding the DSC issue involved workers from Odisha and elderly individuals aged 90.
He noted that teachers have taken to the streets, with many protesting in Kurnool and Vijayawada against the false propaganda surrounding the DSC.
The Chief Minister asserted that the government is accountable to the public, not to those who plot conspiracies. He challenged them to come to the assembly and debate the issue if they had the courage.
