YSRCP Accused of Hindering Teacher Recruitment Process, Claims Nara Lokesh

Amaravati, August 18: Andhra Pradesh’s Education Minister Nara Lokesh has dismissed allegations of irregularities in the mega DSC (District Selection Committee) teacher recruitment process. In the assembly, he accused leaders of the YSR Congress Party of deliberately attempting to obstruct the recruitment process by resorting to legal challenges.

In his statement on Monday, Lokesh revealed that 141 cases had been filed in 148 days to halt or disrupt the DSC. He asserted that the government has been able to face these legal challenges because the mega DSC notification was prepared meticulously, adhering to all regulations. He instructed the department to take strict action if the notification fails at any stage of legal scrutiny.

Lokesh emphasized that the coalition government successfully completed the mega DSC recruitment, issued offer letters, trained selected teachers, and deployed them to schools, which he described as an achievement of the ‘people’s government.’

He also claimed that the recruitment process under the sports quota was conducted transparently to encourage athletes. He clarified that the aim was not to subject athletes to regular examinations but to promote and enhance sports talent through appointments under the sports quota. Furthermore, he noted that, under the guidance of the relevant minister and following central recommendations, the number of recognized sports disciplines has increased from 29 to 65.

Lokesh announced that the state government is committed to organizing the DSC annually, reflecting its dedication to the youth, and stated that there would be no reconsideration of this commitment. He mentioned that the government has already filled 3,000 teacher positions through the DSC this year under the mega job calendar.

He informed the assembly that approximately 10,060 positions have been filled so far through the mega job calendar, including Group-1, Group-2, and DSC recruitments, while TET examinations have also recently concluded.
