Andhra Pradesh CM Clarifies Registration Service Centers Are Not Privatized

Amaravati, July 20: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu clarified on Monday that the newly established ‘Registration Service Centers’ aim to provide better services to the public. He instructed officials to counter the misleading propaganda regarding the privatization of sub-registrar offices with factual information.

He urged officials to inform the public accurately and address the misinformation being deliberately spread.

During a review meeting at the state secretariat’s RTGS center, the issue of alleged privatization of sub-registrar offices was raised.

CM Naidu stated, “The government is fully committed to providing better registration services to the people. The Registration Service Centers (RSC) are being launched to ensure that registration facilities are easily accessible. This is not privatization in any form.”

He explained that the Registration Service Centers will operate similarly to passport service centers. He directed officials to educate the public on how passport service centers function and how they have simplified the passport application process. He emphasized that the Registration Service Centers will also provide quick and easy services to the public.

The Chief Minister accused some individuals of intentionally spreading false information about these centers. He remarked, “It is the responsibility of officials to provide accurate information to the public and explain the benefits of the Registration Service Centers. Document writers need not worry. The government will find a solution that does not affect their livelihoods.”

Naidu also stated that beneficiaries of the ‘DIPAM-2.0’ scheme should receive subsidies in a timely and organized manner. He instructed officials to consider arrangements for payments on scheduled dates. Additionally, officials from the civil supplies and finance departments should coordinate to examine the technical aspects and implement this system promptly.

The Chief Minister discussed the issue of individuals who frequently file petitions without genuine public interest. He said, “Those who repeatedly file complaints or petitions without any real public interest should be identified and counseled.”

In the state, 81 individuals have been identified, each filing an average of 246 petitions. Their information should be sent to district collectors. Public interest petitions should be thoroughly investigated, but those filed solely to tarnish the image of the government or officials should also be identified.

CM Naidu emphasized that non-financial complaints should be resolved immediately, while financial matters will be prioritized.

He noted that this year, rainfall has decreased by 49% due to the impact of El Niño. Therefore, alternative measures should be adopted to mitigate its effects, and farmers should be made aware of this. Naidu encouraged farmers to cultivate drought-resistant crops.
