New Delhi, August 30: During his two-day visit to Uzbekistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed appreciation for the warm welcome he received and the time spent with members of the Indian community. He stated that these events symbolize the strengthening ties and mutual friendship between India and Uzbekistan.
PM Modi shared a video on the social media platform ‘X’, showcasing moments from his time in Tashkent. In his post, he wrote, “Here are some special highlights from Tashkent, including a warm welcome, paying homage at the ‘Yangi Uzbekistan Monument’, and meeting with the Indian community.”
He noted that the Indian diaspora serves as a vibrant bridge between India and Uzbekistan. On Saturday, he shared on ‘X’, “I am overwhelmed by the love and affection from the Indian community in Tashkent. Our diaspora acts as a living bridge, further strengthening the friendship between our two nations.”
The Prime Minister also praised the cultural programs presented during the welcome ceremony, which blended Indian and Uzbek traditions. He remarked that this reflects the deep cultural connections between the two countries.
Sharing a glimpse of a tabla performance, he wrote, “A mesmerizing fusion of Indian and Uzbek musical traditions! The tabla beautifully complements the doira and chang, showcasing the profound cultural ties between India and Uzbekistan.”
During the visit, some women from the Indian community tied rakhi on PM Modi’s wrist, symbolizing their bond.
He visited the ‘Yangi Uzbekistan Monument’ and remarked that it represents the aspirations and progress of the Uzbek people. He expressed his happiness in starting his journey by paying tribute there, stating on ‘X’, “Upon arriving in Tashkent, I went to pay homage at the ‘Yangi Uzbekistan Monument’ with President Mirziyoyev. This monument symbolizes the aspirations and progress of the Uzbek people.”
