Hyderabad, July 20: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has voiced his support for students protesting in Delhi. He demanded an immediate halt to the “police brutality” during the NEET and other exam paper leak incidents and called for accountability.
In a social media post, the Chief Minister highlighted that students marching towards Parliament to demand justice for the NEET paper leak were being beaten with batons.
He stated that the central government is using police forces to silence the very youth whose futures it has jeopardized. Each strike against the protesting students reveals the BJP’s fear of questions, truth, and democratic dissent.
“I stand firmly with the students of India, and we demand an immediate end to police brutality and accountability in the NEET and other exam paper leak cases,” he said.
Revanth Reddy had previously remarked that the exam paper leaks have ruined students’ futures.
In response to the cancellation of NEET-UG 2026 following the paper leak in May, he emphasized the need to protect the credibility of national-level examinations and to punish those involved in the leaks.
He expressed that the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 exam has caused significant anxiety and uncertainty among millions of students and parents across India.
“The integrity of national examinations must be safeguarded at all costs. Anyone or any network involved in exam paper leaks or corruption, regardless of their influence or position, should face severe punishment,” he added.
Reports from the capital indicate that on Monday, the security forces used tear gas to disperse thousands of supporters of the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP) who had gathered to march towards Parliament on the first day of the monsoon session. The police had denied permission for the protest.
