
Dehradun, March 2: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence on Sunday to review preparations for Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s proposed visit to Haridwar on March 7. During the meeting, CM Dhami provided essential directives to officials.
The Chief Minister emphasized that all arrangements for the event must be timely, organized, and dignified to ensure smooth operations regarding security, traffic, public amenities, and coordination during the visit.
He noted that Haridwar is a significant religious and cultural city. Therefore, special attention must be given to avoid any inconvenience to devotees and the general public during the event. He instructed officials to maintain stringent security measures, devise effective traffic management plans, enhance parking facilities, and ensure coordination among relevant departments. Additionally, he directed that cleanliness, drinking water, electricity supply, and health services be adequately arranged at the event sites.
The meeting was attended by Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, Haridwar District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, and senior officials from various departments. Officials briefed the Chief Minister on the progress of preparations and the activities undertaken by different departments.
CM Dhami instructed all relevant officials to regularly monitor every arrangement for the event and ensure that there is no laxity at any level, so that the Union Home Minister’s visit to Haridwar is successful and well-organized.
Earlier, CM Dhami extended Holi greetings to the residents of the state. He remarked that Holi symbolizes not only the festival of colors and joy but also our rich cultural heritage. Celebrated in a spirit of enthusiasm, this festival strengthens social harmony and unity.
He added that Holi is more than just a festival of colors; it embodies our vibrant folk culture, classical music traditions, spiritual consciousness, and the essence of social harmony, representing an invaluable aspect of our cultural heritage. The Chief Minister noted that this significant festival of Indian Sanatan culture conveys messages of love, goodwill, and brotherhood. Furthermore, the various events held during Holi serve as powerful means to connect the new generation with their roots, traditions, and cultural values.
CM Dhami prayed to Lord Badri Vishal and Baba Kedar for prosperity and progress, wishing that this Holi brings more happiness and peace into everyone’s lives, coloring them with new shades of success.
