
New Delhi, May 25: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Bikaner, Rajasthan, on a two-day visit starting Monday. During his stay, he will review border security arrangements and hold meetings with senior officials regarding issues related to the bordering districts of Rajasthan.
Central Law Minister and Bikaner MP Arjun Ram Meghwal announced that Shah will reach Bikaner on Monday night and will stay there overnight. On May 26, he will chair a high-level meeting with senior officials to assess border security, anti-infiltration measures, and ongoing development projects in border areas.
According to Meghwal, the primary objective of this meeting is to strengthen security arrangements, enhance coordination among various agencies, and expand infrastructure in border regions.
Shah is also scheduled to visit the Sanchu border outpost, where he will interact with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel. He will seek their insights on the current security situation, operational challenges, and future strategies.
Meghwal emphasized the strategic importance of this visit, stating that discussions with the BSF and other security agencies will play a crucial role in evaluating border management and development issues. He expects Shah to review existing security measures, anti-infiltration strategies, and the coordination mechanisms among various agencies operating at the border.
The discussions are likely to include development issues related to bordering districts, hybrid warfare, and plans for a new project to combat drug and weapon smuggling via drones from across the border.
In anticipation of the visit, extensive security arrangements have been put in place by the police administration. Chief Secretary V. Srinivasan reviewed security, coordination, and administrative preparations related to Shah’s visit and the upcoming border security review meeting on Saturday in Bikaner.
This review meeting focused on strengthening security arrangements and enhancing coordination among agencies operating in Rajasthan’s bordering districts. Srinivasan instructed all relevant departments and agencies to work closely together to ensure effective monitoring and robust security mechanisms in border areas.
He emphasized the need for heightened vigilance in sensitive areas, rapid sharing of intelligence, and further strengthening of joint operational systems. A detailed review of law and order, existing security measures, drug trafficking control measures, drone surveillance, and coordination among various agencies was also conducted during the meeting. Senior officials from various departments and security agencies participated in the discussions.
Representatives from the Border Security Force (BSF), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Telecommunications Department, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), and Border Roads Organization (BRO) were also present.
Officials noted that this meeting was held ahead of Home Minister Shah’s visit to ensure effective coordination in security preparations and to manage border-related issues effectively.
