Amit Shah and Rahul Gandhi Arrive in Chennai for Election Campaign

Chennai, April 6: The election campaign in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry has reached a crucial stage, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi set to arrive in Chennai today.

According to official sources, Amit Shah will land at Chennai Airport from Kochi via a private jet at 3:15 PM. Shortly after his arrival, he is expected to board a private helicopter to Puducherry at 3:20 PM.

During his visit, Home Minister Shah is anticipated to campaign in support of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates.

After concluding his program in Puducherry, Shah will return to Chennai by helicopter, arriving around 6:10 PM. Instead of exiting directly from the airport, he is likely to spend some time in the VIP lounge located in the old airport complex.

During this time, senior BJP leaders from Tamil Nadu are expected to meet with him to discuss election strategies and coordination. Following these meetings, Home Minister Shah will depart for New Delhi via a private jet in the evening.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to arrive from New Delhi at 10:00 AM. Senior leaders from the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee will welcome him at the airport.

Gandhi is expected to hold a private meeting in the VIP lounge with party leaders, focusing on campaign planning and coordination ahead of the crucial elections. Afterward, he will travel to Puducherry on a small aircraft with a capacity of approximately 12 passengers, where he will participate in campaigning for Congress and alliance candidates.

His return to Chennai has not been officially confirmed, suggesting he may continue his engagements in the region.

Due to both leaders passing through the same airport on the same day, airport authorities have significantly heightened security measures.

Officials have confirmed that an emergency coordination meeting was held to review protocols, regulate the issuance of VIP passes, and ensure smooth transit within the airport.
