Bengaluru, July 24: Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra has accused antisocial elements of exploiting ongoing student protests related to the NEET paper leak controversy to incite unrest in the national capital. He claimed that there is a conspiracy to create a chaotic situation in India similar to that in Sri Lanka and Nepal.
Speaking to the media at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, Vijayendra stated that police officers and media representatives were attacked during the protests. He emphasized that students should not engage in such violent actions. He condemned the involvement of what he referred to as the “tukde-tukde gang” behind this violence.
Vijayendra also criticized the Congress party, alleging that despite the central government’s prompt action regarding the alleged question paper leak, they are attempting to gain political advantage from the NEET controversy.
He noted that as soon as the Modi government became aware of the paper leak, it took immediate action and did not attempt to suppress the issue. “Upon the emergence of the NEET paper leak case, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan ordered an investigation. Recognizing the seriousness of the matter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government took all necessary steps, resulting in the arrest of 13 individuals in one night,” he stated.
He accused Congress and the so-called Cockroach Public Party (CJP) of protesting for political motives. Vijayendra asserted that Prime Minister Modi has always prioritized education and the future of the youth in the country. He mentioned that the central government has implemented several measures to ensure transparency in examinations.
He revealed that the government has ordered the establishment of five fast-track courts to investigate the NEET case and ensure swift justice for the guilty. Referring to the central government’s actions, Vijayendra pointed out that while organizing the NEET exam typically requires six months of preparation, the government managed to conduct the exam again within 35 days and announced the results within 25 days.
To prevent similar incidents in the future, the central government is also considering the implementation of computer-based exams, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced monitoring systems.
Questioning the ongoing protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, Vijayendra alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was abroad for 15 to 20 days and did not express concern for the students during that time. However, upon his return, he initiated protests near the Prime Minister’s residence.
He stated that Union Minister JP Nadda has already engaged with a delegation of protesters to understand their concerns. He argued that demanding the resignation of a central minister is not a solution. The central government is prepared for discussions in Parliament regarding NEET for as long as necessary.
Accusing Congress of jeopardizing the future of the youth, Vijayendra highlighted their silence on police actions against job candidates in Dharwad and the stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. He also alleged that despite the NDA government’s efforts to expand higher education opportunities by increasing MBBS seats, medical colleges, PG medical seats, IITs, and IIMs, Congress is attempting to incite unrest.
