Akhilesh Yadav Questions SITs Effectiveness Amid Ram Temple Donation Controversy

Lucknow, June 24: Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding alleged irregularities in donations to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has raised concerns about the disappearance of ‘Kagabhusundi.’ He criticized the state government and the investigation process, stating that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed without an FIR is akin to being “a bow without arrows.”

Yadav pointed out that new revelations regarding the alleged mismanagement of donations and offerings at the Ram Temple are fueling anger among devotees. He questioned the intentions and effectiveness of the SIT, suggesting that it appears more focused on covering up the issue than conducting a thorough investigation.

On social media platform X, Yadav reiterated his stance on the Ram Temple donations, emphasizing that an SIT without an FIR lacks purpose. He also highlighted the alarming news about the disappearance of the ‘Kagabhusundi’ donation.

He expressed concern over the daily reports of thefts related to donations and offerings, urging that borders with Nepal and other regions should be sealed to prevent the accused from fleeing. Yadav questioned what the SIT could achieve in its investigation, especially when it seems more inclined towards concealment rather than resolution.

It is noteworthy that following allegations of irregularities in the Ram Temple donations, the state government formed a three-member SIT to investigate the matter. The SIT includes Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, Inspector General of Police Kiran S, and Finance Special Secretary Neelratan.

Recently, the investigation team has been interrogating various parties in Ayodhya and thoroughly examining relevant documents and financial records. After completing its initial findings, the SIT submitted its preliminary report to the government. However, the government clarified that the investigation is ongoing, and further inquiries will be made as necessary. A final decision will be reached after evaluating all aspects of the investigation.
