Chittorgarh, August 2 (H.S.) — Following the surprise inspection by Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena at Mewar University in Gangrar tehsil earlier this week, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has now raised serious concerns over alleged irregularities and fake degree distribution at the institution. ABVP activists staged a protest at the district headquarters, demanding an impartial investigation into the matter.
During the demonstration, ABVP’s Chittorgarh unit accused Mewar University of multiple malpractices, including issuing fake diplomas and degrees, offering unapproved courses, accepting money to excuse attendance, and providing unauthenticated certificates. After the protest, a memorandum addressed to the Higher Education Minister was submitted to the District Collector.
ABVP District Coordinator Aditi Kanwar Bhati stated that several universities have come under suspicion for fraudulent educational practices. “Mewar University has time and again been in the spotlight for such misconduct. The recent raid by the state’s agriculture minister revealed the ongoing distribution of fake degrees, clearly indicating the administration’s negligence toward students’ futures,” she said.
She further alleged that both local and external agents are involved in enrolling students and providing degrees in exchange for money — without exams or required attendance.
ABVP has urged the Rajasthan government and the Higher Education Minister to take immediate and strict action in the interest of students.
