Accountability Essential for Truth in Jheeram Valley Case, Says TS Singh Deo

Raipur, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Former Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, TS Singh Deo, has emphasized the need for accountability in the Jheeram Valley case following the recent ruling by the NIA court. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, he stated that understanding why the incident occurred is crucial for uncovering the truth.

Deo also addressed comments made by the newly appointed CEO of the Ram Temple, who claimed that the truth would soon emerge regarding the temple’s donations. He expressed skepticism, asserting that the reality of mismanagement in the temple’s funds is already evident, yet it has not been fully disclosed.

In response to Karnataka’s opposition leader R. Ashok labeling Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar as a “dummy” CM, Deo defended Shivakumar, describing him as an effective leader dedicated to public welfare and proactive in his approach.

Deo further commented on the recent statement by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, which suggested that Muslims would be barred from participating in Garba celebrations and that applying a tilak would be mandatory for entry. He remarked that such declarations reflect their current ideological stance, and individuals should express their views within constitutional bounds.

Regarding the Haldwani incident, where FIRs were filed against BJP leaders, he supported the action, calling it a necessary response to a condemnable situation.

On the rising cases of swine flu in the state, Deo noted that while the health department cannot be solely blamed, the increase in cases is a national trend. He reassured that current medical assessments indicate that it is not as dangerous as previous outbreaks.

Deo also discussed the Congress party’s training initiatives, stating that they are part of a new operational strategy aimed at effectively communicating issues to the public. He clarified that this training should not be directly linked to upcoming elections.

He addressed the claim of an end to “jungle raj,” stating that those who have surrendered their weapons still adhere to their ideological beliefs, suggesting that the fight against left-wing extremism is far from over. He stressed the importance of vigilance to prevent any resurgence of violence.

Lastly, reacting to uncertainties surrounding his participation in the next election, he stated that decisions about the future remain unclear, emphasizing that he is currently content with his situation. He expressed disappointment over the slow progress of housing projects during his tenure as a minister, highlighting discrepancies between state and central government claims regarding the number of homes built.

T.S. Singh Deo’s remarks reflect a blend of political insight and a call for transparency in governance, underscoring the complexities of current issues in Chhattisgarh.
