During a meeting of the ‘Sankalp’ Society, he emphasized the need for active participation from all sections of society to effectively combat the drug problem.
Saini outlined seven key initiatives for the Sankalp Society, including making police station jurisdictions drug-free, eradicating drug trafficking in districts, and ensuring that chemist shops do not sell narcotics. He also stressed the importance of family involvement in the fight against drugs, providing treatment facilities in hospitals, raising awareness about the harmful effects of drugs in schools, and creating a safe learning environment for students. Additionally, he highlighted the need to offer youth better opportunities to engage in sports and other positive activities.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to a drug-free Haryana and a secure future for youth. He called for close monitoring of supply sources and trafficking networks, along with effective investigations and appropriate legal actions against traffickers.
Saini mandated that the Sankalp Society present tangible results every month. The progress in reducing drug availability, connecting youth with treatment facilities, and preventing relapse into addiction will be evaluated. He emphasized the need for accountability at all levels.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister mentioned that the government is organizing marathons, cyclothons, and other awareness programs to educate youth about the harmful effects of drugs. However, he stressed that the ultimate goal is to find a lasting solution to this pressing issue.
