
Mumbai, June 7: The horror-comedy film ‘Munja’ has captivated audiences with its unique storyline, rooted in folklore, and technical innovations. The film, which has performed remarkably at the box office, marks its two-year anniversary today. On this occasion, Abhay Verma, who played the character Bittu, shared a heartfelt post on Instagram.
In his post, Abhay shared unseen pictures and memorable moments from the film’s shooting. The images capture the fun shared among the cast, cherished moments on set, and behind-the-scenes glimpses. Abhay appears joyful alongside his co-stars and the team, reviving fond memories associated with the film.
Accompanying the pictures, Abhay wrote, “It’s been two years since ‘Munja’ was released, and this day has changed my life forever. Even today, when people call me by my character’s name ‘Bittu,’ it truly makes my day. The love and support from the audience have given me a life I once only dreamed of. I am coming back soon with a new project for my fans.”
Actress Sharvari Wagh commented on Abhay’s post, stating, “This film will always remain one of my favorites.”
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and written by Niren Bhatt, ‘Munja’ was produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under the Maddock Films banner.
The film’s narrative is based on the folklore of ‘Munja,’ a ghost from Maharashtra. It tells the story of a boy who falls in love with an older girl but struggles to express his feelings. In an attempt to fulfill his desire, he resorts to black magic, leading to his untimely death. As a restless spirit, he wanders until he encounters his descendant, Bittu, igniting a tale filled with thrills, fear, and humor.
In the film, Abhay Verma portrays Bittu, who loves his childhood friend Bela (played by Sharvari Wagh) but cannot confess his feelings. Meanwhile, Munja attempts to use Bittu as a pawn to complete his unfinished love story, resulting in a series of frightening yet humorous events.
