New Delhi, July 20: Praveen Shankar Kapoor, the media chief and spokesperson for the Delhi BJP, stated on Sunday that leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Communist parties appear unsettled following Sonam Wangchuk’s transfer from Jantar Mantar to Safdarjung Hospital.
Kapoor noted that Wangchuk was moved to the hospital under the directives of the Delhi High Court. However, AAP and Communist leaders view this as a missed opportunity to incite and mislead the youth.
Since Wangchuk’s removal from Jantar Mantar on Saturday, both AAP and the Communist parties have expressed significant disappointment. They had deployed a group of approximately 1,200 to 1,500 workers to the site.
He emphasized that visitors to Jantar Mantar would find either 500 to 700 middle-aged individuals from JNU hostels or 250 to 300 less educated young spectators, none of whom are connected to NEET or any other competitive exams.
Kapoor further remarked that the mistreatment of mainstream journalists by workers present at the AAP and Communist Party-sponsored gathering at Jantar Mantar is a clear indication of the discontent stemming from their movement’s failure.
Earlier, Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra stated that the appearance of senior, high-fee lawyers like Kapil Sibal and Vivek Tankha in the High Court for interim relief in Wangchuk’s case indicates that he is not just an ordinary activist but a political pawn for the entire opposition.
Malhotra asserted that the Delhi Police‘s action to transfer Wangchuk from Jantar Mantar to the hospital was in accordance with High Court directives.
Perhaps this is why the High Court denied any interim relief in response to the petition filed on Wangchuk’s behalf.
Referring to the alleged protests against the NEET exam paper leak, Malhotra mentioned that Wangchuk participated in a hunger strike during a protest sponsored by AAP, Communist parties, and Congress on June 28, despite the NEET re-examination being successfully conducted on June 21.
