YSR Congress Accuses Andhra Pradesh Coalition Government of Undermining Visakhapatnams Development

YSR Congress claims the Andhra Pradesh government is neglecting Visakhapatnams growth in favor of Amaravati, raising concerns over local issues.

Visakhapatnam, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has criticized the coalition government led by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for allegedly undermining the development of Visakhapatnam in favor of Amaravati. The party claims that the government is deliberately neglecting the city’s growth while focusing on promoting the capital.

Former minister Gudivada Amarnath addressed the media on Sunday, stating that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is misusing platforms to target the YSRCP and its leadership. He highlighted that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had granted land titles for housing to 130,000 individuals, but the coalition government has halted related initiatives.

Amarnath accused Naidu of portraying a negative image of Visakhapatnam. He pointed out that the chief minister has failed to address the severe drinking water shortage in the city during the monsoon season. According to Amarnath, this neglect appears to be a deliberate attempt to hinder the city’s development while exclusively promoting Amaravati, which he described as Naidu’s real estate project.

He further alleged that valuable land in Visakhapatnam has been sold at low prices to individuals close to the chief minister, many of whom are real estate companies that have recently emerged. He also implicated Minister Nara Lokesh’s brother and a local MP in a significant land-grabbing scheme.

The YSRCP leader contended that the distribution of land titles for housing ahead of local elections is merely a facade. He noted that Naidu has shifted focus from pressing issues like the drinking water crisis and challenges related to the steel plant to attacking the YSRCP and its leaders.

Amarnath emphasized that all water reservoirs have dried up, leaving residents desperate for reliable leadership, only to be disappointed by the chief minister’s lack of action. He stated that the public is frustrated with Naidu’s “event management” approach, which prioritizes predictions and political attacks over solving critical issues.

He concluded by asserting that the YSRCP has successfully curbed illegal mining in the Panchdaral area and will continue to address public concerns.
