Police Encounter in Mathura Leads to Arrest of Two Criminals in Land Dispute Case

Two criminals were arrested in Mathura after a police encounter linked to a land dispute, leaving one injured.

Mathura, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : A police encounter late at night in Mathura resulted in the arrest of two wanted criminals. The incident occurred in the Highway police station area, where one suspect was injured in the leg during the exchange of gunfire and has since been hospitalized for treatment.

The encounter is connected to a shooting incident on October 5 in the village of Bajna, stemming from a land dispute. Authorities had registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the suspects, prompting an ongoing search by law enforcement.

Acting on a tip-off, the Highway police team set up a blockade after receiving accurate information about the suspects’ movements towards Romex School via a dirt road. Upon realizing they were surrounded, the criminals opened fire on the police with the intent to kill.

In response, the police fired back to protect themselves and the public. During this exchange, one of the suspects, identified as Kanak, son of Kamal Singh, was shot and subsequently taken to the district hospital under police protection. The other suspect has been identified as Karan, son of Bhuri Singh.

Authorities recovered two illegal firearms (.315 bore) and four cartridges from the arrested individuals. Police officials stated that further legal action is being pursued based on the previous registered cases against the suspects and the current arrests and recoveries.
