Ranchi, March 7: Young individuals from humble backgrounds in Jharkhand have achieved remarkable success in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Despite limited resources, these aspirants have proven that dreams can be realized with determination and hard work.
Sudipa Dutta from Kumardabad in Dumka district secured an impressive All India Rank of 41. Her father, Sachchidanand Dutta, works as an assistant postmaster at the local post office, while her mother, Pampa Dutta, is a homemaker. Sudipa achieved this success through self-study, without the aid of major coaching institutes.
She regularly studied at the Dumka government library and strengthened her preparation through group discussions and mock tests. This significant achievement came in her third attempt. Previously, she was selected for the CDPO position through the Jharkhand Public Service Commission.
Niharika Sinha from Kulipada in Sahibganj district attained an All India Rank of 365 in her second attempt. Coming from a very modest family, her father, Niranjan Sinha, is a tailor, and her mother, Shabnam Kumari, works as a contractual nurse in the health department.
Despite limited resources, Niharika remained focused on her goals. She completed her tenth grade at St. Xavier’s School, Sahibganj, in 2018, and her twelfth grade at Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, Ranchi, in 2020. After graduating with a degree in Political Science from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, in 2023, she moved to Delhi to prepare for the UPSC exams. Although she did not succeed in her first attempt, her hard work paid off in the second attempt.
Apoorva Verma from Bokaro also excelled in the exam, achieving an All India Rank of 42. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in the Delhi Police. Balancing her demanding government job with UPSC preparation, she demonstrated discipline and determination to reach this milestone.
Additionally, Vipul Gupta from Latehar secured an All India Rank of 103, while Istiaq from Firdaus Nagar in Doranda, Ranchi, achieved a rank of 354. Shruti Modi from Dhanbad also made it to the final list with a rank of 569.
This success story highlights the potential of young aspirants from Jharkhand, proving that with perseverance, they can overcome challenges and achieve their dreams.
