New Delhi, October 7 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, marking 25 years of his leadership in government. He described this milestone as a moment of immense joy and emphasized Modi’s dedication to public service and the principle of “Nation First.”
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, CM Yogi stated, “The completion of 25 glorious years as the head of government by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has dedicated his life to ‘Public Service is Nation Service’, is a significant occasion for all of us.” He further noted that Modi’s tenure reflects an unwavering commitment to public service, strong resolve, visionary leadership, and a spirit of nationalism.
Yogi highlighted that Modi’s life inspires the people of the country to build a developed, self-reliant, and strong India. In a video message, he stated, “Through his hard work, PM Modi’s remarkable journey has allowed us to envision a new India—one that we take pride in, is secure, and ready to face the world.”
On this significant achievement, CM Yogi expressed heartfelt congratulations to PM Modi for completing 25 years on the path of national service. Modi reached this milestone on October 7, marking a pivotal moment in his political journey that began in 2001 when he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat. On Tuesday, the Union Cabinet passed a resolution congratulating Modi for his continuous leadership over the past 25 years.
Notably, Modi took the oath of office as Gujarat’s Chief Minister on October 7, 2001, serving in that role until May 2014, when he became Prime Minister. His political ascent began long before, rooted in his organizational work with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He became the BJP’s General Secretary in Gujarat in 1987, and after the party’s victory in the 1995 state assembly elections, he took on expanded organizational responsibilities.
In October 2001, he was chosen to replace Keshubhai Patel as Gujarat’s Chief Minister during a challenging period marked by the aftermath of the devastating Bhuj earthquake and various political and administrative hurdles. Modi remained in this role until 2014, when he transitioned to national politics.
Under Modi’s leadership over the past 25 years, the government has prioritized the implementation of public welfare schemes and improving access for citizens. Technology and digital governance have become integral to public administration. The World Bank has noted significant changes in India’s development metrics, including a reduction in extreme poverty from an estimated 16.2% in 2011-12 to 2.3% in 2022-23, alongside infrastructure expansion and improved access to basic services.
Modi’s tenure has also enhanced India’s international standing, with the government focusing on increased diplomatic engagement, strong relations with major powers, and India’s prominent role in the Global South.
