
Jaipur, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma called on the youth to integrate yoga into their daily lives and stay away from substance abuse. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 51st Sub-Junior and Junior National Yoga Sports Championship at Alankar PG College in Jaipur, he highlighted the importance of yoga in contributing to a “Developed India” and “Developed Rajasthan.”
Sharma described yoga as a priceless heritage of India’s ancient culture, teaching the world the art of living a healthy, disciplined, and balanced life. He noted that yoga enhances concentration, strengthens decision-making abilities, and promotes positivity. In an era where changing lifestyles and health challenges affect people globally, yoga remains a simple, accessible, and effective means to maintain mental and physical well-being.
The Chief Minister also emphasized the global spread of yoga, crediting Prime Minister Modi’s efforts and diplomacy for the United Nations’ declaration of June 21 as International Yoga Day. Today, yoga, meditation, and pranayama have become integral to the daily routines of millions worldwide.
Sharma asserted that the youth are the future of the country, playing a crucial role in achieving the goal of “Developed India 2047.” He announced that the state government is establishing “Atal Knowledge Centers” in villages, equipped with online classes and e-libraries. Additionally, sports facilities are being constructed in every panchayat.
He revealed that the state’s “double-engine” government has made 193,000 appointments so far, with another 118,000 positions currently being filled. A recruitment calendar for 125,000 positions has also been released. In the private sector, 500,000 jobs have been created for the youth. For those wishing to work abroad, a language center has been launched in Jaipur to teach five foreign languages.
Sharma criticized the previous government for frequent paper leaks during examinations, claiming that under the current administration, not a single paper leak has occurred. He encouraged candidates to work hard for competitive exams, assuring them that their aspirations would be safeguarded.
The state has introduced the “Rajasthan Youth Policy 2025,” focusing on strengthening sports infrastructure and providing more opportunities for young athletes. He announced the implementation of the “Target Olympic Podium Scheme” (TOPS) to prepare state athletes for the Olympic Games.
Furthermore, Rajasthan is set to establish 17 new “Khelo India Centers,” with a grant of ₹40.12 crore approved for 1,786 athletes. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including MP Rao Rajendra Singh, Alankar PG College Chairman Lalchand Kataria, Padma Shri awardee Gulabo Sapera, Asian Yoga Federation President Ashok Kumar Agarwal, elected representatives, and numerous participants from across the country.
