New Delhi, October 7 (Daily Kiran) : Leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have accused Rahul Gandhi and members of the INDIA alliance of misleading the public regarding electoral processes. This criticism follows ongoing protests led by Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and other alliance members against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.
Telangana BJP chief Ramchandra Rao stated, “Rahul Gandhi is attempting to mislead the entire country by claiming that voters are being removed. This is nothing but an effort to confuse the public. Form 7 is merely an application for removing names from the voter list, yet Gandhi and the INDIA alliance are falsely asserting that minority votes are being eliminated. This is not true; they are still misleading the people.”
Yamini Sharma, a member of the BJP National Council from Vijayawada, criticized Gandhi’s accusations of treason against the Election Commission, particularly targeting the CEC. She questioned, “By what authority does Rahul Gandhi threaten the Prime Minister and the Election Commission? Does he believe he and his family are above the law and democracy? We are accountable to the public, not to these ‘angry uncle’ types.”
Bihar BJP president Sanjay Sarawagi commented on the protests against CEC Gyanesh Kumar, suggesting that Gandhi should clarify whether he believes in democracy or in a politics of threats. He dismissed Gandhi’s claims about the Prime Minister and Amit Shah, stating, “It is absurd to talk about taking action against them. The Election Commission’s official statement indicated that no meeting had been requested by Gandhi by the stipulated time.”
JDU General Secretary Shyam Rajak emphasized that as a senior leader of the opposition and Congress, Gandhi should be aware of the rules and laws. He pointed out that there are established procedures for raising issues and meeting officials, asserting, “If these rules are not followed, it means they do not believe in democracy. They are not kings who can issue orders at will and expect compliance.”
BJP spokesperson Samta accused Congress and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of misleading the public regarding issues related to the voter list. She highlighted that the Supreme Court has not made any adverse comments against the Election Commission or Form 7. She stressed the necessity of thorough investigations before removing names from the voter list and questioned why Congress is blaming the BJP instead of addressing administrative concerns.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak remarked, “Congress leaders are completely out of touch with reality. In their quest for power, they fail to see things clearly. They continually levy accusations against constitutional bodies. When they win elections, the Election Commission is good, but when they lose, they blame the Commission.”
