
New Delhi, June 20: International Yoga Day will be celebrated worldwide on June 21. Various yoga programs will be organized in different countries to mark the occasion. In anticipation of the 12th International Yoga Day, several Indian missions are hosting yoga sessions. On this occasion, Diana Alipova, the wife of the Russian Ambassador to India, and Yulia Aryeva, the cultural counselor at the Russian Embassy, shared their thoughts in an exclusive interview with a news agency.
Yulia Aryeva expressed, “I believe yoga is a priceless gift. It is a gift from India to humanity and the world. Personally, I love practicing yoga, especially with ‘Yoga Life Studio.’ Hosting today’s session and celebrating International Yoga Day at the embassy with my Indian friends and members of the diplomatic corps is truly an honor and a joy for us.”
Diana Alipova added, “We are very grateful to ‘Life Yoga Studio’ for coming here today and organizing this wonderful yoga session just before the celebration of International Yoga Day. In fact, this has become a very popular festival in other Russian cities, including Moscow.”
Additionally, several Indian diplomatic missions held yoga sessions on Saturday ahead of the 12th International Yoga Day, emphasizing the importance of health, wellness, and inner harmony.
This year’s International Yoga Day will be celebrated on Sunday, with the theme “Yoga for Healthy Aging,” focusing on yoga’s contributions to health, active living, and happiness across generations.
On this occasion, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait organized a yoga session at the Boulevard Cricket Stadium as part of a three-day yoga program that began on June 19. According to the Indian Embassy, over 2,200 participants, including diplomats, government officials, community leaders, students, and yoga enthusiasts from across Kuwait, took part in the session.
Notable attendees included Padma Shri awardee and Chairperson of the Kuwait Yoga Committee, Sheikha Shaikha Al Sabah, and Padma Shri awardee and founder of the Arab Yoga Foundation in Saudi Arabia, Nouf Marwai.
Ahead of the 12th International Yoga Day, the Indian Embassy in Finland collaborated with the Finnish-Indian Society Suomi-Intia Seura to host a midnight yoga session in Rovaniemi, located in the Arctic Circle.
The Indian Embassy in Finland posted on X, stating, “This event, celebrated under the theme ‘Yoga for Healthy Aging,’ brought participants together to honor the enduring benefits of yoga against the backdrop of the unique sunset in the Arctic.”
