Farmers Celebrate International Yoga Day on Tractors Near India-Pakistan Border

Jammu, June 20: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, excitement for yoga is palpable across the country. People are celebrating this day in their unique ways. In a remarkable display, farmers in the RS Pura area of Jammu and Kashmir, near the India-Pakistan international border, practiced yoga while sitting on their tractors. This event marked the 12th International Yoga Day, where farmers aimed to spread awareness about yoga.

Farmer Mohammad Arif spoke to a news agency, stating, “Just as our youth stand firm at the borders, our farmers remain steadfast in the fields. Today, in honor of Yoga Day, all our farmer brothers have left their farming to practice yoga on tractors, as the tractor is the true companion of a farmer.”

He emphasized the healing power of yoga, saying, “If yoga can cure someone’s illness, what greater service could there be?” Mohammad Arif further conveyed a message to neighboring Pakistan and all Islamic countries, urging them to embrace yoga. “Yoga is a message of humanity. It is for the betterment of mankind. Therefore, everyone should practice yoga and stay healthy.”

On this occasion, the farmer expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, “By bringing our ancient civilization and traditions to the international stage, PM Modi has elevated India’s name.”

Retired Captain Hansraj (Army Medal) also shared his thoughts on yoga practice. He noted, “Farmers have very little time. Those with tractors have to return to their work, yet they took half an hour to an hour for their health. They managed to practice yoga while keeping their schedules intact.”

Retired Captain Hansraj mentioned that they collectively decided to practice ‘Yoga on Tractors.’ He added, “We will practice yoga and remain healthy; a good mindset will foster love and harmony.”
