Jaipur, August 8: Heavy rainfall has been reported in several parts of Rajasthan, leading to waterlogging and traffic disruptions. In response to the weather conditions, the meteorological department has issued a warning for light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in Bharatpur for Saturday. Consequently, all schools in the district will remain closed today.
According to the Jaipur Meteorological Center, some areas in Bharatpur may experience light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder. Winds are expected to reach speeds of 30-40 km/h.
This warning is valid for the next three hours. Similar weather conditions are forecasted for several other districts in eastern Rajasthan, including Dholpur, Karauli, Dausa, Alwar, Kotputli-Behror, and Deeg.
Due to the continuous rainfall and the weather department’s advisory, the district administration has declared a holiday for all government and private schools in Bharatpur on August 8. This order applies to students from pre-primary to class 12, and all Anganwadi centers in the district will also remain closed.
The administration stated that this decision was made as a precautionary measure to protect children from the risks associated with heavy rain, storms, waterlogging, and difficult travel conditions.
However, this holiday only applies to students and Anganwadi beneficiaries. Teaching and other staff at schools and Anganwadi centers are required to report to their institutions at the scheduled time. According to an order issued by District Collector Kamar Chaudhary, continuous rainfall may lead to waterlogging in several areas of the district, disrupting transportation.
The district administration has instructed all heads of government and private educational institutions and relevant officials to ensure strict compliance with the holiday order.
Parents have also been urged to refrain from sending their children outside unnecessarily during the inclement weather and to follow all safety advisories issued by the authorities.
