Hyderabad, August 8: Protests by students in Jharkhand over alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC examinations continue for the 15th consecutive day. Telangana BJP President N. Ramchandra Rao has sharply criticized the Hemant Soren government, stating that it is completely indifferent to the concerns of students.
Rao emphasized that the current government in Jharkhand is not part of the NDA, which leads to a lack of seriousness regarding student issues. Following the leak of the JPSC exam papers, students have been demanding a CBI investigation, but the state government has been ignoring these calls. Despite being on the streets for several days, the government has not engaged in dialogue with the protesters, which Rao described as extremely unfortunate.
The BJP leader also targeted the Congress and the INDIA alliance, claiming that while Congress professes to support youth, the reality in states like Jharkhand and Kerala is different. In these regions, coalition partners are resorting to tactics such as baton charges and filing false cases to suppress student movements. Rao criticized this as Congress’s double standards and hypocrisy, stating that they only support students in words, not in action.
He accused Rahul Gandhi of exploiting students for political gain and politicizing the issue. According to Rao, the concerns of students are raised only when politically convenient, but there is no genuine intent from the Communist Party and Congress regarding these issues.
Rao pointed out that while governments across the country acknowledge legitimate student demands, the situation in Jharkhand is different. He insisted that a transparent investigation by the CBI is essential for serious issues like paper leaks. The ongoing student movement is centered around this demand, and the government should address it immediately.
