Panchalingala, August 14: Former Chief Minister and YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has reiterated that the law and order situation in the state is deteriorating. He claimed that the coalition government is engaging in revenge politics, warning that they will regret their actions in the coming days.
Speaking to the media after meeting party MLA Virupakshi at a local jail, Jagan stated that it has become common for the TDP coalition government to turn victims into accused by filing false cases against them. This tactic aims to suppress the opposition’s voice while targeting the backward communities that form their support base.
He alleged that police forcibly entered the MLA’s house, destroyed CCTV cameras, and arrested the elected representative at night, leveling serious charges against him and others. Jagan accused the TDP of sinking so low that a party worker tore his wife’s clothes and blamed the MLA, hoping to have him arrested under Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe laws. Meanwhile, when evidence of an attack on a YSRCP worker’s home was presented, the police refused to file a case.
Jagan highlighted the police’s inaction during an attack on a party worker who had sent an SOS. The MLA intervened to help his supporters, but TDP goons attacked their vehicle, leaving the MLA’s brother seriously injured. He criticized the government for targeting tribal leaders one after another.
He pointed out that a simple road accident case was escalated into serious charges leading to the arrest of Appalaraju. Mustafa was arrested on minor grounds related to a tobacco deal, which was later turned into a kidnapping case. Additionally, Chintada Ravi Kumar was arrested for allegedly attacking a female assistant police officer who was helping disperse a crowd.
Jagan’s message was clear: the aim is to harass political opponents by filing false cases. However, he asserted that circumstances will not change, and those adhering to the constitution will soon regret their actions.
