New Delhi, August 26: India’s Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, has stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping’s upcoming visit to India is a clear indication of India’s rising global strength and robust foreign policy. He emphasized that the arrival of a leader from such a significant nation will yield positive and tangible outcomes for both countries.
In an interview, Singh remarked that Xi Jinping’s visit should be viewed from a constructive perspective. He noted, “When a leader from such a large country visits India, it is bound to bring forth some solid and positive developments. This visit clearly indicates that India’s global standing and strength are continually increasing.”
Singh further highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, India’s foreign policy has consistently strengthened. Progress towards a free trade agreement (FTA) with the European Union, collaboration with Russia in various sectors including fertilizers, and agreements with other nations exemplify this growth. He expressed hope that the upcoming BRICS summit would prove beneficial for both India and China.
Commenting on Nitin Gadkari’s statement regarding passing leadership to the younger generation, Singh acknowledged it as a natural progression. He stated that as age increases, experience grows, while energy gradually diminishes. Therefore, the senior generation should pass on their knowledge and experience to the youth, enabling them to advance society and the nation with their vigor and the wisdom of their elders.
Supporting Home Minister Amit Shah’s assertion that “the country is not a shelter home,” Singh emphasized that India cannot serve as a refuge for illegal immigrants. He stressed the importance of securing borders to maintain national security and economic stability. India has always welcomed refugees through established processes, but strict action must be taken against illegal entrants.
Regarding the Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to privatize the Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre, Singh stated that the success of an institution does not solely depend on whether it is managed by the government or private entities, but rather on effective leadership. He backed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath‘s decision, asserting that his government makes thoughtful choices that will benefit both the institution and society.
