Womens Lives Transformed by Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in Jind

Jind, October 9 (Daily Kiran) : The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has become a source of relief for women in rural areas and impoverished families, particularly in Jind. This initiative has provided access to cooking gas, alleviating the burdens of collecting firewood and other traditional fuels. Women in the region have expressed gratitude towards the government, highlighting the program’s convenience for rural households.

Previously, women had to gather firewood for cooking, often carrying heavy loads back home. Cooking on traditional stoves was time-consuming and the smoke caused discomfort to their eyes. With the introduction of gas cylinders, their daily routines have become much easier.

The convenience of cooking gas has simplified everyday tasks for these women. The Ujjwala Yojana has not only saved time and effort but has also transformed their cooking methods. Women in Jind regard this initiative as beneficial for rural families, noting a significant enhancement in their quality of life.

Bala Devi shared her experiences, stating that before 2016, women faced immense challenges in collecting firewood for cooking. Carrying wood on their heads and cooking over traditional stoves was a daily struggle. The smoke from these stoves also affected their eyes. Thanks to the Ujjwala Yojana, the need to gather firewood has decreased significantly. Cooking with gas has alleviated smoke-related issues, positively impacting their health. She expressed her appreciation for the program, calling it invaluable for rural women.

Under this scheme, gas cylinders are available at subsidized rates, and the subsidy amount is directly credited to the women’s bank accounts, providing economic relief to families.

Reena Rani also praised the Ujjwala Yojana, noting that cooking used to take a considerable amount of time. Now, meals can be prepared in just minutes with gas. The availability of gas cylinders has largely resolved this issue for women.

Reena further mentioned that cooking with gas saves time and reduces the eye discomfort caused by smoke. She emphasized that the program has brought significant convenience to their lives.
