Sonipat, October 9 (Daily Kiran) : Central Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan stated on Friday that the youth of India cannot be hindered by train cancellations or disruptions in transportation. His comments came in response to the Indian Railways’ decision to cancel and reschedule several trains arriving at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations on October 10. This decision was made due to expected heavy traffic congestion around railway stations, linked to a proposed protest by the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP) in the national capital.
Speaking to reporters after addressing the seventh convocation ceremony at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management in Kundli, Haryana, Paswan emphasized, “These are the youth of India; no one can stop them.” He questioned, “How many trains can one stop? How much connectivity can one disrupt? How many roads can be closed? These are the youth of India. They have the potential to show the world a new direction, just as previous generations have done. In such a scenario, no one can stop them.”
Train services arriving at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations will be affected between 4 AM and 2 PM on Saturday due to these cancellations.
In anticipation of the planned protest, the national capital is being fortified with strict security measures, with over 23,000 security personnel expected to be deployed.
Earlier, the Delhi Police announced that permission for the CJP protest had been denied, citing the organizers’ failure to adhere to legal guidelines and previous assurances. The police also requested the closure of 57 metro stations.
Following the police’s proposal, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced on Friday that the entry and exit gates of 57 metro stations would remain closed from 9 PM until further notice due to the anticipated demonstration.
The Supreme Court has directed that metro services should not be completely halted ahead of the planned protest on Saturday. The court instructed the central government to ensure that metro and other railway services continue to operate efficiently to minimize inconvenience for the public.
