Ayodhya, August 27: Samajwadi Party MP Avadhesh Prasad has expressed his views on the recent tragedy in Nepal and the ‘Women’s Dignity Prosperity Scheme.’
In an interview with a news agency, Prasad stated, “When our government was in power from 2012 to 2017, women were given respect and dignity. Under my supervision, the Social Welfare Department distributed pensions to 5.5 million women. When Akhilesh leads our government again, we will prioritize the development and respect of women, students, youth, and farmers.”
Regarding law and order in Uttar Pradesh, Prasad remarked, “The way murders are occurring, it feels like lawlessness prevails. Chief Minister Yogi’s grip has completely loosened, and criminals are rampant. In such a situation, where law and order have collapsed and murders are happening openly, there is no justification for the government to remain in power.”
On the Nepal tragedy, he said, “This is the most tragic event of the year, resulting in countless lives lost, with reports of deaths continuing to emerge. I express my condolences and sympathies to the families affected. I urge the central government to provide assistance.”
Concerning the risk of flooding in Uttar Pradesh, Prasad emphasized, “There is a need for complete vigilance. Officials must monitor the situation at war footing.”
It is noteworthy that following heavy rainfall and flooding in Nepal, the flood threat in the Nichlaul area of Maharajganj has decreased as the water level of the Narayani River has begun to recede. All gates of the Valmikinagar barrage are open, while NDRF, SDRF, and government teams are keeping a watchful eye on affected villages as a precaution.
