Woman Murdered in Sahibganj, Jharkhand; Police Launch Investigation

Sahibganj, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : In Sahibganj, Jharkhand, a 45-year-old woman was brutally murdered late Monday night by unknown assailants. Her body was discovered Tuesday morning near the Mahadevganj Lalmatia village area, under the jurisdiction of the Jirwabadi police station. The victim has been identified as Geeta Devi, the wife of local resident Shankar Bhuiyan.

Villagers found her body lying by the roadside early Tuesday and promptly alerted the authorities. Upon receiving the report, Jirwabadi police station chief Shashi Kumar Singh and his team arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. Initial findings revealed severe injuries to the woman’s head, suggesting she was struck with a heavy object. However, the exact weapon used in the crime has yet to be determined.

Police gathered essential evidence from the crime scene and sent the body to Sahibganj Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The results of the autopsy will provide further clarity on the cause of death and the nature of the injuries. Investigators are trying to ascertain why Geeta was outside her home on Monday night and who she was last seen with.

Authorities are exploring various potential motives for the murder, including personal disputes and other factors. The incident has caused significant unrest and fear among local residents.
