Celebration of Last Hindu Emperor Hemu Held in Delhi, Gratitude Expressed for PM Modis Mention

New Delhi, October 7 (Daily Kiran) : A significant celebration commemorating the last Hindu emperor, Hemu, took place on October 7 at Himachal Bhawan in New Delhi. Organized by the Rouniyar Vaishya Sabha, the event attracted a large gathering of dignitaries, history enthusiasts, and youth.

Former governors of Assam and Nagaland, Professor Jagdish Mukhi, served as the chief guest, while renowned author and senior journalist Dr. Atul Singhal was the special guest. The primary aim of the celebration was to express gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who mentioned Hemu in the 137th episode of his “Mann Ki Baat” broadcast on August 30. The Rouniyar Vaishya community felt honored by this acknowledgment.

The Sabha expressed deep appreciation on behalf of thousands of Rouniyar Vaishya families residing in the National Capital Region and nearly one crore members across the country. Following the “Mann Ki Baat” episode, a crucial meeting was held where it was decided to present the community’s key demands to the Prime Minister. A detailed memorandum has since been sent to the Prime Minister’s office.

The memorandum requests the establishment of a grand statue of Emperor Hemu in his birthplace, Sasaram, Bihar, with an unveiling ceremony to be conducted by Prime Minister Modi. Additionally, it calls for the inclusion of Hemu’s life and contributions in the national curriculum.

During the event, speakers highlighted Hemu’s legacy as a remarkable warrior and skilled administrator who rose from humble beginnings. His bravery and leadership played a crucial role in defending Indian pride against foreign invasions, setting a remarkable example of patriotism and courage.

The event also featured the mention of a book titled “Aakhir Kaun Tha – Hemu, Last Hindu Emperor Vikramaditya,” authored by researcher Subodh Kumar Gupta after 15 years of study. This research establishes Hemu’s connection to the Rouniyar Vaishya community and has received commendation from various universities and historians.

Professor Jagdish Mukhi emphasized the need to honor such forgotten heroes at the national level. Sabha president Subodh Prasad Pankaj and national coordinator Pankaj Kumar reaffirmed their commitment to supporting these initiatives, expressing hope that the government would consider their demands positively.

The program concluded with a pledge to promote unity within the community, preserve history, and pass on the legacy of Emperor Hemu to future generations.
