Wings India 2026 to Showcase India’s Aviation Strength at Asia’s Largest Event

New Delhi: The Government announced on Sunday that ‘Wings India 2026’, Asia’s largest civil aviation event, is set to become a significant global aviation platform due to its scale, international participation, and strategic focus.

The event will be held from 28 to 31 January at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad. The formal inauguration will be conducted by the Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. Several senior officials and dignitaries from India and abroad are expected to attend.

With over 150 exhibitors, more than 7,500 business visitors, around 100,000 general spectators, 200 foreign delegates, and over 500 business-to-business and business-to-government meetings, the event promises to be a comprehensive aviation showcase. Additionally, over 31 aircraft will be displayed. According to the government, this event will mark a historic moment not only for India but for the global aviation sector.

The ministry stated that the event will kick off a major global aviation conference highlighting India as a key hub for connectivity, aircraft manufacturing, services, innovation, and environmentally friendly technologies.

‘Wings India 2026’ aims to demonstrate how India’s aviation sector plays a crucial role in economic growth, regional development, and global integration.

India’s civil aviation sector has witnessed rapid and unprecedented growth over the past decade. Passenger numbers have multiplied, making India one of the world’s largest aviation markets. Indian airlines have expanded their fleets with hundreds of new aircraft and placed record orders, positioning India as a leading future market for aircraft.

The ministry also highlighted the swift expansion of airport infrastructure. New greenfield airports, modern terminals, and flight planning initiatives under government schemes have strengthened regional connectivity. India is also progressing rapidly in aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), pilot training, aerospace manufacturing, cargo logistics, and modern air mobility.

Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), green airports, and digital air navigation are among the measures transforming the future of aviation, the government added.

The event will bring together policymakers, CEOs of global companies, investors, innovators, airlines, airports, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), MRO firms, technology providers, training institutions, and startups, making it one of the world’s most comprehensive aviation platforms.

Confirmed participants include major global and Indian companies such as Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, HAL, Dassault, Bell Textron, ATR, Pilatus, De Havilland, and Rolls-Royce. Airlines and airport operators like Air India, IndiGo, Akasa Air, Etihad Airways, Thai Airways, GMR, Adani Group, and Noida International Airport will also be part of the event.

The ministry emphasized that top executives from the world’s leading airlines, airports, and aircraft manufacturers will attend, reflecting India’s growing importance in global aviation.
