
New Delhi, July 23: Samsung has announced the start of pre-orders for its new foldable smartphone series, the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8, in India. The company emphasizes advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), productivity, and a sleeker design in this new lineup.
The new Galaxy Z series, based on Samsung’s seven generations of foldable technology, is equipped with Galaxy AI and Gemini Intelligence. This allows users to seamlessly navigate between multiple apps with fewer steps. Enhanced privacy and security controls are also included.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the premium model in this series, with pricing set at ₹199,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant, ₹219,999 for the 12GB+512GB variant, and ₹259,999 for the 16GB+1TB variant. This smartphone will be available in Graphite, Cream, and Violet Shadow colors, while the Green Shadow color will be exclusive to online buyers.
The starting price for the Galaxy Z Fold8 is ₹179,999. The 12GB+512GB variant is priced at ₹199,999, and the 16GB+1TB variant will cost ₹239,999. It will be available in Graphite, Cream, and Lavender colors, with the Pistachio color available only online.
For the Galaxy Z Flip8, the 12GB+256GB variant is priced at ₹124,999, and the 12GB+512GB variant is priced at ₹144,999. This smartphone will come in Graphite, Cream, and Pink colors, while the Mint color will be available exclusively online.
JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, stated that the strong response to foldable smartphones over the past seven years demonstrates Samsung’s leadership in this category. He noted that customers appreciate Samsung’s foldable devices for their unique design and personalized Galaxy AI experience, enhancing both productivity and creativity.
According to the company, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is designed to provide a more immersive viewing experience while being lightweight. Weighing just 201 grams, it is the lightest Galaxy Z Fold smartphone to date and features a 4,800mAh battery.
The smartphone incorporates a Flex Titanium display structure to reduce the visibility of creases. Additionally, it boasts peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits, a dual 50-megapixel camera system, dual recording, and My FanCam features.
