West Bengal Government Will Not Oppose Jai Shri Ram and Jai Maa Kali Slogans: Gaurav Vallabh

New Delhi, May 8: Gaurav Vallabh, the national spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), addressed the first anniversary of ‘Operation Sindoor’ amid uncertainty regarding the chief ministerial candidate and rising attacks on BJP workers during Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to West Bengal.

In an interview, Vallabh praised the Indian Army’s actions during ‘Operation Sindoor,’ stating that within 88 hours of its launch on May 7, 2025, Pakistan was brought to its knees. He highlighted this as a testament to the valor of the Indian Army and the government’s decisive policy against terrorism.

Regarding discussions about the chief ministerial candidate in West Bengal and Amit Shah’s visit, Vallabh mentioned that the central leadership would consult all legislators before making a decision.

He accused the Left parties and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of damaging West Bengal over the decades and asserted that the BJP would promote development politics in the state. Vallabh also stated that a government would be formed that would not oppose the slogans ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Jai Maa Kali.’

When questioned about the Congress party’s actions in Tamil Nadu, Vallabh asked, “What are they commenting on? Look at the number of their legislators who have come in Innovas. What can they say?” He described the Congress as a single-digit party.

He recalled Rahul Gandhi’s previous remarks to DMK’s Stalin, referring to him as a “big brother,” and questioned the current state of their relationship, calling it a significant betrayal. Vallabh emphasized that the majority figure is 118, and the Governor will allow the formation of a government based on that majority.

In response to a statement by AIMIM spokesperson Waris Pathan, Vallabh asserted that “Vande Mataram” is tied to the country’s pride and the freedom movement and deserves respect. He noted that it has been ingrained in the hearts of the people since the independence movement. Vallabh criticized Pathan for refusing to say “Vande Mataram,” insisting that such behavior is unacceptable.
