Mumbai, August 27: The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch has successfully arrested the main supplier involved in a case of charas worth ₹10 crore near Bandra Terminus. The Mumbai police reported that the accused was preparing to flee to Nepal.
According to the police, on August 17, a team from the Worli unit apprehended an individual near Bandra Terminus and seized over 10 kilograms of charas from him. The value of this drug in the international market exceeds ₹10 crore. A case has been registered at the Nirmal Nagar police station regarding this incident.
During the interrogation of the arrested individual, he provided information about the person who supplied the charas. Consequently, the Worli unit’s team was dispatched to Bihar to locate the supplier. On August 23, the team arrived in the Raxaul district of Bihar to continue their search.
With the assistance of local police in Bihar, the accused was arrested in East Champaran while he was preparing to escape to Nepal.
Last week, 55 kilograms of methamphetamine, valued at ₹300 crore, was seized near the Nhava Sheva port’s Container Freight Station (CFS).
In this case, a smuggler linked to the ISI, identified as Hussain Dad, has come under suspicion. Hussain is reported to have significant influence over India’s drug market and has a history of involvement in the international drug trade. Originally from Kandahar, Afghanistan, he is currently believed to be aiding Pakistan as part of the Inter-Services Intelligence. His role in financing terrorist activities through drug profits has been significant.
