Waris Pathan Accuses Government of Targeting Muslims During Eid Celebrations

Mumbai, May 28: AIMIM leader and national spokesperson Waris Pathan has raised concerns regarding the treatment of Muslims during the Eid-ul-Azha celebrations. He stated that while the entire nation is celebrating Eid with peace and brotherhood, the BJP government is allegedly harassing Muslims.

In a recent conversation, Pathan extended Eid greetings to the nation, emphasizing that this day symbolizes love and sacrifice. He called for Allah to maintain peace and tranquility across the world and urged people to celebrate Eid according to administrative guidelines.

Pathan highlighted issues faced by some societies regarding the sacrifice of goats. He accused the authorities of deliberately creating difficulties for Muslims. “In many societies, Muslims are being troubled over goat sacrifices. The administration only seems to notice these issues during Eid. For years, we have been bringing goats with permission, tying them in a corner, and then taking them elsewhere for sacrifice,” he explained.

He made serious allegations against the BJP government in Maharashtra, claiming it is responsible for creating a riot-like atmosphere. “This time, the BJP’s extremist factions aimed to incite tension between Hindus and Muslims and provoke riots,” he asserted.

Pathan also addressed the cancellation of BMC permissions, stating, “Wherever there was BMC permission, pressure was applied to revoke it. How will Muslims fulfill their duty of sacrifice? This has been happening every year. We are following all instructions.”

He questioned the double standards regarding public prayers, saying, “They talk about not praying on the streets, yet people are singing bhajans and kirtans on the roads in Mira Road. Are there no rules for them? Are all laws only applicable to Muslims?”

Pathan appealed to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra to pay attention to the situation, stating, “This is a calculated conspiracy. There is an attempt to disrupt the state’s atmosphere. Muslims are being harassed to incite riots. Eid should be celebrated with love, not hatred.”
