New Delhi, May 9: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs, successfully extradited wanted criminal Abhay Rana from Portugal on Saturday. The accused was brought back to India with the assistance of Interpol.

Abhay, also known as Abhay Rana, was wanted by the Haryana Police in connection with several criminal cases in the state. These cases include extortion, criminal threats, operating an organized crime syndicate, attempted murder, and making threats to kill.

Investigations into a case registered in Karnal district revealed that the accused and his associates threatened local businessmen for ransom through WhatsApp calls and other social media platforms. Those who failed to meet their demands were attacked by members of the gang. After the investigation was completed, a charge sheet was filed against the accused in the relevant court.
