Vivek Bhimanwar Sworn in as Chairman of Maharashtra Public Service Commission

Mumbai, February 18: Senior civil service officer Vivek Bhimanwar took the oath as the Chairman of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) on Wednesday. The ceremony was held at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai, where Governor Acharya Devvrat administered the oath of office and secrecy.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde attended the event. Both leaders presented Bhimanwar with a bouquet and extended their best wishes for his new responsibilities. According to information released by the state government, Bhimanwar’s appointment is for a term of six years or until he turns 62, whichever comes first.

Before the oath-taking, the Governor’s Secretary, Dr. Prashant Narnavre, read the appointment notification issued by the General Administration Department. The event was also attended by former MPSC Chairman Rajneesh Seth, Acting Chairman Dr. Abhay Wagh, other commission members, Chief Minister’s Secretary Shrikar Pardeshi, several senior officials, and Bhimanwar’s family members.

The ceremony began with the national song ‘Vande Mataram.’ In accordance with new guidelines from the central government, the program commenced with ‘Vande Mataram,’ the national anthem, and the state song, concluding with ‘Vande Mataram’ and the national anthem. The entire event was conducted with simplicity and discipline.

Vivek Bhimanwar is regarded as an experienced and honest officer. He has held various important positions within the state administration and possesses extensive experience in administrative tasks.

It is believed that under Bhimanwar’s leadership, the commission’s operations will become more transparent and effective. The Maharashtra Public Service Commission conducts the recruitment process for various state government services, making the role of its chairman highly significant. With this new responsibility, Bhimanwar faces the major challenge of ensuring that recruitment processes are completed in a timely and fair manner.
