Vikramaditya Vedic Clock to be Presented in Varanasi by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav

Bhopal, April 3: The Vikramaditya Vedic Clock, crafted in the holy city of Ujjain, is set to arrive in Varanasi. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will visit Varanasi on Friday and, in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will first dedicate the clock to Baba Vishwanath.

The Vikramaditya Vedic Clock is India’s first clock based on Vedic timekeeping. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated it in 2024. This clock calculates time based on sunrise and provides information related to the Panchang. It offers comprehensive details about Vedic time, planetary positions, lunar phases, and the Vikram Samvat calendar.

As part of the initiative to revive India’s rich heritage of timekeeping, the clock will be dedicated first to Baba Vishwanath in Varanasi. Its uniqueness lies not only in its traditional calculation method but also in its digital extension.

Regarding his visit to Varanasi, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “The grand presentation of the immortal tales of Indian culture, valor, policy, and justice will commence today with the ‘Samrat Vikramaditya’ grand play on the soil of Kashi. The city of Baba Vishwanath will witness this glorious event.”

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the grand play based on the biography of Samrat Vikramaditya at the BLW in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath. The play will be staged from April 3 to 5, aiming to familiarize the public with the glorious history of the country, the scientific aspects of Vikram Samvat, and the unique contributions of that era.

This three-day event, organized jointly by the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, will feature a historical presentation of the grand play ‘Samrat Vikramaditya’. Various educational exhibitions will also be set up at the venue. The presentation of the play, based on Samrat Vikramaditya, will last approximately 1.45 hours, showcasing the talents of over 175 artists and collaborators.
