Vikram Bhatt Discusses the Future of Filmmaking: I Wont Be Here to Witness the Changes

Mumbai, June 20: Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt’s latest movie, “Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past,” premiered in theaters on June 12. Currently, Bhatt is busy promoting the film and has shared his insights on the rapidly evolving future of cinema.

In a recent interview, Bhatt expressed his thoughts on how technology and audience behavior are continuously transforming the industry. He acknowledged that while filmmaking is set to change in extraordinary ways, he does not expect to witness the most significant shifts in its future.

When asked about how filmmaking techniques and audience preferences have evolved over time, Bhatt remarked, “The good thing is that I am at an age where I won’t be spending many more years here. So, I am not overly concerned. When the time comes that there will be no reels and people can watch things directly, there will also be a time when people will watch films with their eyes closed and chips in their ears. I won’t be around to see that, so I’m not thinking too far ahead.”

Bhatt’s recent release, the supernatural horror film “Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past,” serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2011 film “Haunted – 3D.” The cast includes Mimoh Chakraborty, Chetna Pandey, Gaurav Bajpai, Hemant Pandey, Shruti Prakash, and Praneet Bhatt. The film is produced by Anand Pandit, Javed Khan King, and Shwetambari Bhatt, with Mahesh Bhatt as the presenter.

Additionally, Bhatt is set to direct the next installment of the “1920” franchise, titled “1920: Cold Winter.” This film will be produced by Anand Pandit, Rupa Pandit, and Rahul V. Dubey.

Previously, the director revealed what draws him to tell horror stories on the big screen. He stated, “I truly believe that I have a connection with fear. I think fear is the root of all other emotions in the world. If you look closely, the fear of losing someone is possessiveness. The fear of not having enough is greed. The fear of being alone is the reason for relationships. The fear of being left behind is competition. The world runs on fear, but most of us do not recognize it as fear. We perceive it as possessiveness, greed, and so on. If you observe closely, many people live in fear.”
