Healy Shah Discusses Growth as an Artist Ahead of Chumbak Release

Mumbai, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : Healy Shah, the talented actress, is gearing up for the release of her streaming series “Chumbak.” In a recent interview, she expressed how her work on this show has allowed her to evolve as an artist.

The series marks a significant comedic role for Shah. While she has dabbled in comedy before, “Chumbak” presents her with a unique opportunity to explore a different facet of her acting skills. During a promotional event in Mumbai’s BKC area, she shared insights alongside co-stars Arjun Bijlani, Anant Joshi, Delnaz Irani, and Amayra Dastur about her experiences on set.

“This character is very different for me,” Shah noted. “I’ve done some comedy work, but I don’t think I’ve ever portrayed a character like Twinkle before. Playing this role made me realize that I can do comedy. At the very least, I can give it a try. As Anant mentioned, everything we did was based on the story provided by the makers. They really drew out the best in all of us. It was a fantastic experience as I discovered a comedic side of myself that I didn’t know existed. I realized I could attempt it, and throughout the shooting of this show, I’ve seen myself improve.”

Shah recalled the moment she was offered the role, saying, “It was very special because the makers called me to inform me that this show was being made. It was during Navratri, and I was preparing to play Garba.”

Previously, she discussed the transition from television to OTT platforms, highlighting the challenges actors face in breaking free from preconceived notions. Despite building a strong fan following through television, Shah acknowledged that many actors still grapple with being labeled as “TV actresses” when exploring new formats.

“Chumbak” is set to premiere on Netflix on September 10.
