
New Delhi, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : In New Delhi, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan unveiled a new book titled “A Century of Service – The RSS in 100 Acts of Service,” authored by Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, former Governor of Telangana and Puducherry. The launch took place at the Vice President’s residence on Tuesday, September 15.
Speaking at the event, Radhakrishnan emphasized that the book chronicles the RSS’s century-long commitment to service, highlighting its social responsibilities and contributions to nation-building. He noted the importance of documenting good deeds, as today’s news can become tomorrow’s history. This book illustrates how the spirit of service has consistently transformed into social action.
Describing the principle that “service is religion and a duty,” the Vice President pointed out that the RSS’s initiatives have reached the underprivileged, marginalized, and various communities, including laborers, women, and children. He recalled the vital role RSS volunteers played during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing food, medicines, and essential assistance.
Radhakrishnan also mentioned the book’s theme of “nation-building through character-building,” stressing that patriotism, discipline, social responsibility, and national unity are essential for the country’s development. He expressed hope that this book would not only serve as a record of the RSS’s century of service but also as a testament to India’s tradition of service, culture, and national consciousness for future generations.
He congratulated Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan and all those involved in the publication, expressing a desire for more efforts to document history.
The event was attended by Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, Puducherry Home Minister A. Namassivayam, and Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan.
