New Delhi, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), participated in a dialogue event organized by IILM University and Banyan Tree School on September 16. During the event, he engaged with students from class 10 to postgraduate levels, answering their questions and sharing insights.
Addressing both teachers and students, Bhagwat shared his personal belief that the younger generation is more honest and naturally courageous than their predecessors. He urged students to consider the issue of brain drain, stating that while opportunities abroad are plentiful, one’s identity is rooted in their home country. He emphasized that India has provided them with their very essence, and urged them to retain what is necessary for themselves while dedicating the rest to society and the nation.
Bhagwat remarked that the primary goal of education is not merely career development but the cultivation of humanity. He asserted that education distinguishes humans from animals, and true nation-building can only occur through the development of individuals.
He cited the film “Hanuman Ansh,” referencing Neem Karoli Baba and Steve Jobs’ visit to him, as well as the fact that Swami Vivekananda’s guru, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, did not have formal schooling. He noted that many saints in India, despite lacking regular education, became leaders due to their elevated sense of humanity. This, he argued, highlights the need for an educational system that enhances human qualities alongside modern academic learning.
Bhagwat concluded by stating that India should not aspire to be merely a military or economic superpower but must reclaim its status as the world’s guru, with the knowledge of humanity being its hallmark.
