Faridabad, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant operation, the Crime Branch of Faridabad, Haryana, has arrested three foreign nationals for their involvement in drug trafficking. The suspects were apprehended with cocaine valued at ₹15 crore in the Lakkadpur area, close to the Delhi border. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid and seized a large quantity of drugs from the accused.
The three individuals, reportedly from Nigeria and Cameroon, arrived in India in 2018 and have been residing in Lakkadpur for nearly three years. Authorities received intelligence suggesting that foreign nationals were engaged in large-scale drug operations in the area. Following this lead, police executed the raid and discovered the cocaine.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Aman Yadav stated that the police are preparing to take the suspects into custody for further questioning. The investigation aims to uncover the source of the drugs, the supply chain, and the intended distribution points in Faridabad and Delhi.
Initial findings indicate that the accused were packaging the cocaine in smaller quantities for distribution in Delhi and nearby regions. Their activities had raised suspicions for some time, but the vigilance of the Crime Branch led to the dismantling of this major racket.
Authorities noted that the suspects did not possess any valid documents to justify their prolonged stay in India. Investigations are also underway regarding the validity of their visas and passports since their arrival in 2018.
Following the arrests, police investigations in Lakkadpur and surrounding areas revealed information about nine other foreign nationals. The police are now scrutinizing their records and documents to determine if they are connected to the drug trafficking network.
The three suspects will be presented in court and taken into custody for intensive interrogation. Law enforcement believes this may be part of an international drug syndicate, and significant revelations are expected during the questioning.
