
New Delhi, August 28: Raksha Bandhan was celebrated across India on Friday. Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan marked the occasion with school children, while Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla celebrated with ‘Laadli’ sisters in his parliamentary constituency of Kota-Bundi. Additionally, BJP National President Nitin Naveen received rakhi from women workers of the BJP Mahila Morcha.
At the Vice President’s residence, C.P. Radhakrishnan celebrated Raksha Bandhan with school children who tied rakhi on his wrist, symbolizing love, trust, and protection. He noted that the interaction created a warm and joyful atmosphere at the Vice President’s house, making the festival truly special.
Meanwhile, Om Birla celebrated the auspicious festival with ‘Laadli’ sisters in Kota-Bundi. On this occasion, sister Veerangana Madhubala also tied the sacred thread.
In a post on X, Om Birla stated, “The rakhi tied on my wrist is not just a thread of affection and trust, but a sacred symbol of women’s respect, dignity, and commitment to a secure future. The love from my sisters is a blessing, and it is my duty to always share in their joys and sorrows.”
He emphasized that our sisters are not only the emotional core of families but also the strong foundation for society and nation-building. He prayed that every sister’s life be filled with respect, happiness, and self-reliance, and that their dreams reach new heights. He extended heartfelt wishes to all sisters on this sacred festival of Raksha Bandhan.
In another event, women workers from the BJP Mahila Morcha visited Nitin Naveen and tied rakhi on him. Nitin Naveen expressed gratitude in a post on X, saying, “A sacred thread of trust and affection. I am thankful to the BJP Mahila Morcha workers who tied rakhi on me at my residence in New Delhi today.”
