New Delhi, August 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan on Friday at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, with school children. During the event, he engaged in laughter, high-fives, and conversations with the kids. PM Modi also shared glimpses of the special Raksha Bandhan ceremony on social media.
In a video posted on Instagram, the Prime Minister was seen giving high-fives and shaking hands with the students. He captioned the video, “Today at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg (PM residence) during the Raksha Bandhan ceremony, there were high-fives, smiles, and much more.”
The video showcased PM Modi interacting warmly with the children, offering them blessings, and spending quality time during the Raksha Bandhan celebrations.
During the interaction, a little girl asked PM Modi about his childhood dreams. She inquired, “What was your childhood dream?” To which PM Modi replied, “To meet you all.” This response elicited laughter from the students.
Earlier, PM Modi extended his wishes for Raksha Bandhan to the nation. He wrote on the social media platform X, “Wishing everyone a very Happy Raksha Bandhan. May this auspicious festival bring happiness, prosperity, and success into your lives. I hope the bonds of affection, belonging, and mutual trust remain unbreakable.”
On this occasion, he also shared a Sanskrit shloka, stating, “Eṣa prabhāvo rakṣāyāḥ kathitaḥ te Yudhiṣṭhira. Jayadaḥ sukha-daścaiva putrārogya-dhanapradāḥ.” The shloka describes the protective thread’s significance, promising victory, happiness, progeny, health, and wealth.
Notably, PM Modi has been celebrating Raksha Bandhan with children for several years. Last year, the children tied rakhi on him and celebrated the festival together. In a post on X, the Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to women for their unwavering trust and love.
